Looking for a friendly space to learn Dutch?
Novio Taalcafe is a warm and welcoming space to enjoy a cup of coffee, get connected to others and have a go. You can start on your own level, as we have tables for beginners and advanced.
Why?
Learning a language can be a daunting task. Expressing yourself in a language that is unfamiliar feels vulnerable. Duolingo might help to increase your vocabulary and a Dutch class might teach you some important grammatical skills, but learning to have conversations takes a lot of practice. Novio Taalcafe provides a safe space for you to meet other people who experience the same challenge. It provides a community that will help cheer you on in your learning process and who knows… you might make some friends along the way.
What?
Our sessions at Novio Taalcafe are intentional yet informal. Over a cup of coffee or tea we will introduce you to other people who are seeking to learn Dutch. We have different table groups for beginners, intermediate and advanced speakers. A table host will facilitate your group. We have a varied program that will help you to engage with the Dutch language in a fun and informative way. Each week we use different topics to learn how to have conversations across a wide spectrum areas of every day life. From school to shopping, from hobbies to work etc.
WHEN & WHERE?
Our cafe is a community initiative of Novio Church. It’s a project that is run by our staff and volunteers. It’s free to attend. We even pay for your coffee!
Sessions run every week on Thursdays from 9.30-11.00am at Perplex cafe, Eilbrachtstraat 8, Nijmegen. Feel free to bring a friend. If you want to let us know you’re coming or ask any questions, just send us an email.
